Meet Brandy

The Story:

Brandy began taking voice lessons when she was 9. This pointed her toward community theatre, drama classes, then eventually to the Orange County High School of the Arts and subsequently Ball State University. She received her BFA in Musical Theatre. Although she had extensive training, something about her voice was confusing. She struggled with range and common techniques like belting. Persistent, she decided to dedicate two years to figuring out how her unique voice could shine. Through self-led technique work and experimentation, she developed her voice to become its freest and most natural form. Now, she prides herself on being able to sing whatever she wants, whenever she wants. After a lifetime of struggling with singing, she has found her voice.

The Mission:

Emergent Vocal Studio was founded on the belief that helping students find their own voices makes them stronger singers, better artists, and valuable individuals in the global community. Through voice work, students are empowered in their artistic and personal lives. Emergent is a word used to describe the process of something coming into being-- the voice emergent is what we seek here!
